Raw sesame seeds are black color. Hulled sesame seeds are white color, so sometimes it is called white sesame seeds.

Black sesame seeds are unhulled sesame seeds that have a stronger nutty flavour and aroma than hulled white sesame seeds. White sesame seeds have the same tiny tear-drop shape as black sesame seeds but have a different taste and nutritional profile due to removal of the hull.
